FTTH and FTTx network expansion in Bonn and Alfter

Our company is currently carrying out a comprehensive FTTH (Fiber to the Home) and FTTx (Fiber to the x) network expansion in Bonn and Alfter. With two specialized teams, we are implementing state-of-the-art fibre optic infrastructure for these regions.

Project scope

  • Installation of house connections (HA)
  • At least 20 house connections per week per team
  • Complete network planning and documentation
  • Fiber optic supply to the apartments

Technical implementation

The extension includes:

  • Blowing in fiber optic cables
  • Installation of network termination points (NvT)
  • Assembly and installation of APL (termination point line technology)
  • ONT (Optical Network Terminal) installation
  • Splice cassette installation

Quality assurance

Each installation is carefully documented and tested:

  • Air pressure test of the house connections
  • Splice connection tests
  • Photo documentation with geolocation data
  • Complete logging of all installation steps

This infrastructure development will provide Bonn and Alfter with future-proof high-speed internet coverage and support the digital transformation in the region.
